Overview of the course (as stated on the web page)
This course is intended for teachers and other educational professionals interested in competence-based education. The course aims to provide you with a thorough introduction to the topic, as well as make you aware of the issues and challenges related to making competence-based education a reality in the classroom. Furthermore, teachers will be given concrete tips on how to implement project-based learning, a particularly suitable method for delivering competence-based education, as well as on how to assess this type of collaborative learning.
This course has been designed to improve your competences, so that you can in turn develop those of the young people you teach, work with or on behalf of.

My thoughts
beforeThinking about modern society it's inevitable to think that teachers should be modern and competent as well, They need to deal with well advanced students in technology. We must find ways to challenge our students' thinking, develop critical thinking and provoke mind growth that would result in adults ready to invent and apply, and be competent in their own field of expertise.

duringThere are a lot of the competences I've used in my work with students, I just never knew that I was in the 21st Century.
On the more serious side, as teachers, we are more intuitive than educated in techniques, methods and especially in SKILLS. It's nice to know my own intuition can be trusted. I'm on a right track, just need a bit of tweaking. |
afterThe course is done and I seriously think that it was great one! Not because I learned a lot, but because I found out that things are almost the same everywhere when it comes to teachers, teaching, students and parents.
Sometimes we live in this delusion that elsewhere it's sooooooo muuuuuuuch betterrrrrrrr! And it's NOT! |
